10 1/4 x 14 3/8", 2 columns, 31 lines, written in dark
brown + red ink in a rounded Gothic (rotunda)
See #102 script. Ruled with ink (brown). Prickings at other
edge. 2 line initials alternating red + blue, with
vertical penwork decoration in blue + red.
The Manifestation of Christ to the Gentiles.
Epiphany (Jan. 6) - its eve is 12th night. It commemorates
a) the baptism of Jesus (Mark 1)
b) the visit of the Wise men to Bethlehem (Mat 2)
c) the minscle at Carra (Jahn 2)
The feast is far more ancient than Christmas.
