subsequent editions, a fresh translation is given of the books
Job - Song of Solomon. The long preface is generally
ascribed to Huldreich Zwingli (1484-1531), the eminent
Reformer of Zurich who was killed in the fight of
Cappel, 11 Oct. 1531.
- 678 ff. Text in double col. with 50 lines to a full col.
Margins contain references, subject headings + a
few short notes. Many small woodcuts occur
throughout the volume. (347x240mm.)

1st ed. of the Zurich or Swiss-German Bible - prepared by
ministers of the Church in Zurich. Owing to the delay
in the completion of Luther's translation, various 'combined'
Bibles were issued giving those portions hitherto put
forth by Luther, supplemental by versions fo the
remainder by other translations. THis complete Zurich
Bible presents all the portionshitherto published by
Luther viz. Genesis - Song of Solomon + the N.T. slightly
revised + adapted throughout to the Swiss dialect.
