Set up in 3 sections, comprising quires a-i, k-r,
and s-D respectively.
- Zainer's large 2 sided woodcut border with scolling
flowers + foliage, at top the figure of a kneeling
jester among the vines. Woodcut capitals in 2
different styles, the larger 10 line set featuring
elaborate rope work designs, the smaller 3 line set
lombard outlines

First ed. of this extensive moralized commentary on the
Old + New Testaments printed a scant 15 months
after Zainer had established himself as Ulm's first
printer. In the present work, the colophon
expresses thanks to the clemency of the Lord that
the book has been completed by "the art of printing
(not by the pen) from letters cast in lead."
