August 23rd.
Sabbath. Revd. W. Mills preached
in the morng. Revd. J. Robinson, and
Mr. Fletcher in the afternoon.

Mr. Robinson enquired about Julia Gibson and
after conversing with her, said he was much pleased
to see how she had improved in manner and
appearance she is very thankfull [thankful] for the shelter
she has here and hopes she will profit by the good advice
and time to think. which she has had here".

Monday 24th.
We are very busy finishing the
Steamers washing. its been quite
an effort this month, owing to so
many being ill with the cold - and five
of the healthy ones, are almost worthless, so that
our numbers of workers at present is small.

Teusday, 25th.
Revd J. Robinson called to say, he had
bought 3 yds of flannel for Julia Gibson
which a porter would bring in course of the day.
on its arrival I called her and exhibiting the
flannel said. heres a present for you, who do you
think its from? "I am sure I dont know,
nor can I guess, unless its from you"? when
I said Mr. Robinson sent it, tears came in her
eyes, said "how very kind of him, perhaps it will
be the means of saving my life" &c -
