Joseph Fransis [Francis?] called this morng.
accompanied by an old man and woman and took
Ann Williams away, to get married. I told J F that
Ann had signed the Temperance Pledge, and
asked him if he would, he consented.

Thursday 6th
Having nothing extra to give the
inmates on this. the "Duke of Edinborough's [Edinburgh]
birthday," I said nothing to them about it and
they worked the same as usual, and did
their sewing cheerfully in the evening also.
