April 16th Thursday
Took J. Drew and Eliz'th Graham to the
Labor Office 9 oclk Miss G Fletcher them back
at 4 o clk.

Friday 17th
Marg't Canovan continues to give us
trouble, she is so thouroughly [thoroughly] helpless, can not
even wash her hands. last night I enquired what
she was screaming for. Jane Brownlee said, it was
because she tried to get her to wrap up her clothes
as she took them off to go to bed.

Saturday 18th
Sent J Drew to the labor office & she
has engaged as general servant 8/- pr week.
to Mrs. Mann, Neutral Bay. she was requested
to go to her situation on [underlined] Sunday [end underlined] even'g. I sent word
that we never allowed anyone to go on Sundays that
she might go this eve'g or monday morn'g.
I went with the messenger to the Central Market
at 7 oclk and purchased 4/. worth of
vegetables.

Sabbath 19th
Rev'd W. Mills preached 11 oclk.
No minister came afterwards.
We read the 53 and 55 Chapters I said every other
verse and sang "Rock of ages cleft for me" &c
and the Evening Hymn. All the
inmates attended - and were orderly and quiet.
