March 19th
Thursday. This has been a very trying week.
Looking after these men, superinten -
ding the washing for "Mail" (this being
the last [underscored] week) and the trouble and
annoyance caused by the refractory
conduct of J. Pickering & Elizth. Nicklburg. besides
the cleaning of the house & I am very ill today.

Friday 20th.

Saturday 21st.
Matron too ill to leave her bed
all yesterday.

Sabbath. 22nd.
Mr. Moses preached 11 oclk. Revd W Robson 3 oclk
Mary Fitzsimmonds called to
see us, says she is very comfortable
in her situation. did what I could to
encourage her to do her duty. shewing [showing] her
how much more honorable it was to gain an
honest [underscored] living.

Monday 23rd.
Miss G took J. Drew again to Capps's
but without success. if she would take a
general servants place she might soon get one.
but she says she "is not strong".
The new Lamps for bedrooms were used for the first
time, they are a great improvement as they give so
much brighter light than the mould candles.
