March 24th
Teusday. [tuesday] Sub Comt [Committee] met, 5 ladies present.
The new rules for diet, cleaning the house &c
came into opperation [operation] today. Wrote a
letter to Ellen Wright. the poor girl is labouring
to retain her situation, although suffering from
bad health.
Wednesday. I went to Haighs and Cappi's
with J Drew. a lady from "Yass" would
take her if she had a character. Jane stands
in danger of being a fixture. unless she undertakes a
situation as a general servant.

Thursday 26th J. Drew asked to be taken to the Register Office
I told her it was quite impossible, but wd [would]
try to send tomorrow.
Betsy McMahon has returned after serving at
her situation 12 months and has engaged to
go to Balmain as a general servant. 9/- per week. she
left 20/- in my charge and her box, said she felt
very thankful to the ladies for their kindness.
Friday 27th Miss G took J. Drew again to Cappi's
Haighs and another in Bridge St
The lady from Yass sent to say she would
take J Drew without a character, and gave
£5.0.0 to pay expences. [expenses]
Sent a letter to Mrs Simpson. Braidwood to
enquire about Deborah Hardcastle.
having heard that she had left her situation &
not being able to find her address.
