Sabbath.
Mr. A. L Jackson came to preach
(instead of Dr. Charles) Text Job 22 Chap ver 21.
"aquaint now thyself with him and be at peace,
thereby good shall come unto thee." all the inmates
were very attentive. And I felt glad to be there too.

Monday 14th
A young woman gayly [gaily] dressed, called
again requesting to see Kate McMahon
said she was her sister, which is false, as Kate has
no sister. She was very rude and demanding
to prove her relationship and then she could see her,

Teusday [tuesday] 15th
Purchased a peice [piece] of Calico for
Lady Young £1. 15. 0.

Wednesday 16th
M. A. Ward has been swearing today
for which I gave her a severe
reprimand. she cried very much when that
wicked practice was shown to be such a great
sin against God our maker.

Thursday 17th
Mary Brown and Kate McMahon have been
idle and unsettled, wanting to go out
they hid themselves in the mangle room
this eve'g after prayers, and were caught busy
preparing to escape over the cottage.
