Bill came back from leave.
* 24 Thur - S. Bartholomew
Showery afternoon
and evening. Caught 9.30 bus to Cambridge
and went to Auntie Marions. Went for a
walk with Ian in afternoon. It poured with
rain. Helped Auntie make jam & bottle plums
in evening.

25 Fri
Lovely day. Helped Auntie first
and then went down town with Janet.
Bought Mummie birthday present & I bought
myself a belt. Went for a walk in afternoon
and did some sewing for Auntie in evening.

26 Sat - First Quarter 11.39 p.m.
s.r. 5.3, s.s. 7.0
Lovely day.
Helped Auntie & then went down to the
town in morning. Bought Mummy some plates
& got some sweets. Read & did some knitting
for Auntie in evening. Heard from Mummy &
Betty Ambrose in morning. I should have
registered but hadn't my identity card so
couldnt

Make a further sowing of Spinach to stand the winter.
After removing suckers from the base of the plants of
early Celery and thoroughly soaking the trench with
water, commence earthing ; do not be in a hurry to
earth the late crops. Keep a close watch on vegetable
seeds reserved for seed purposes (see 2nd week June) ;
gather before there is any loss due to over-ripening.
