The Report being adopted the second amendment was
lost.

On motion of Ald Gildersleeve seconded by Ald McKelvey
Ordered, That the Committee on Streets and Fire,
Water and Gas be authorised to use the lots on the corner
of William and Ontario streets formerly occupied by William
McRossie Esquire for the purpose of storing the City Roller
Carts and other plant - the consideration for such use to be
a remission of the taxes on the lots in question for the
proportion of time used either party to have the right to put
an end to the arrangement at any time.

The Council went into Committee of the whole on
the second reading of the By Law to amend the By Laws
passed on the first day of June 1885 and intituted
"A By Law to make provision for the watering of the streets
in certain areas of the City of Kingston and to define three
areas for the year 1885".

The Council resumed.

The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the
second reading of the By Law clause by clause by clause. The Report
was received.

The 30th Rule was suspended and the By Law was
read a third time and passed.

Ald Gildersleeve introduced a By Law to open up
and make a street from Montreal street to Rideau street in
continuation of Picard street in the City of Kingston
which was read a first time.

Ald Gildersleeve introduced a By Law relative
to Wooden Buildings in the City of Kingston which had
its first reading on the 21st September ultimo

On motion of Ald McKelvey seconded by Ald Dunn
Ordered, That the By Law be printed

On motion of Ald Robinson seconded by Ald Adams
Ordered, That the Chiarman of Streets & Improvements
do furnish next Council Meeting a correct statement of the
cost of material and labour for and probable cost of the
concrete pavement.

On motion of Ald Carson seconded by Ald Birmingham
Ordered, That the Chief of Police be instructed to
ascertain the exact depth of water in the Reservoir every
morning at the hour of two OClock and keep a record
of the same

On motion the Council adjourned
