A Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of
Kingston was held this day. Present

His Worship The Mayor
Aldermen
Adams, Bermingham, Carson, Clements,
Drennan, Dunn, Gildersleeve, Harty, Hobart,
Little, McDermott, McKelvey, O'Brien, Redden,
Robinson, Thompson, Whiting, J Wilson

The Clerk read the minutes of the two last meetings.

The following communicaitons were read

From Sidney Gardiner and Walkem and Walkem on behalf
of Mrs Kirkpatrick respecting taxes. Referred to the Court of
Revision.

From Henry Chapman & Co Agents Merryweather
Engine. There was no action taken thereon

From Francis Elkington County Clerk respecting appointment
of Committee to confer with County Committee. Referred
to the Finance Committee.

From McKay & Wood, Taxation. Referred to the Finance
Committee

From Abraham Shaw Secretary Midland Central Fair
requesting the City Grant of $500 be placed to credit

On motion of Ald McKelvey seconded by Ald Harty
Ordered, That the Mayor be empowered to hand
a cheque for $500 to the Treasurer of the Central
Fair for the County of Frontenac when he is satisfied
on payment of a similar sum by the County Council.

From S Neilson requesting a refund of $25.00
deposited with the City Treasurer in 1884 on certain
conditions. Referred to City Solicitor to report to Finance
Committee.

Writ Crumley vs Kingston T.L. Snook Plaintiffs
Attorney. Referred to the Finance Committee.

From Miss AC Conlan Re Watering streets. Referred
to Committee Fire, Water and Gas

From AE Conlan respecting Bridge. Referred
to the Committee on Streets.

Ald Shannon here entered

From Edwin Horsey Chief of Police in reference
to petition of Alfred Simmons asking to be allowed to
continue his business as tallow chandler

On motion of Ald McKelvey seconded by Ald Shannon
Ordered, That Alfred Simmons receive a permit
to carry on his business of Tallow Chandler on the premises
he now occupies inspected by the Chief of Police

Ald Adams brought up the petitions of Thomas Palmer,
R Evans and James Dyke respecting taxes.
Referred to the Court of Revision
