Ald Thompson introduced a By Law to raise by
way of Loan $16000 for the purposes therein mentioned
which was read a first time.

Ald Gildersleeve gives notice that he will
introduce at the next meeting of the Council a By Law to open up and continue Picard
street from Montreal street to Rideau street.

Ald Gildersleeve introduced a By Law to name
a street and to abolish the name now used for part of
the same - which was read a first time.

On motion of Ald McDermott second by Ald Little
Ordered, That the City Clerk be authorised
to enter into Communication with the street Railway
Company with reference to the removal of the switch
on the corner of King and Princess streets.

On motion of Ald Robinson seconded by Ald Adams
Ordered, That the first day of July be
proclaimed a general Holiday by the Mayor being
our Dominion Day.

On motion the Council adjourned.

A Special Meeting of the Council of the Corporation
of the City of Kingston was held this day. Present

Gildersleeve, Harty, Hobart, Irwin, Little,
McDermott, McKelvey, O'Brien, Redden, Robinson,
Shannon, Thompson, J Whiting, J Wilson,
W Wilson

The Mayor stated the meeting was called to consider
Report on Streets &c also the Budget and also the
School Debenture By Law

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets
&c brought up a Report (Number 352 Book E)
(Appropriations) which was read.

Ald Gildersleeve moves seconded by Ald Hobart
That the report of the Committee on Streets be
received and that the portion thereof in regard to Picard
street be adopted.
