A Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of
Kingston was held this day Present

His Worship the Mayor

Aldermen

Adams, Bermingham, Carson, Clements, Downing
Dunn, Eilbeck, Hobart, Law, McKelvey, Quigley
Redden. Robinson, Shaw, Smythe, Thompson
Whiting, J. Wilson, W. Wilson

The Clerk read the minutes of the two last meetings

Ald: Bermingham from the Committee on Finance
and Accounts brought up a Report (Number 232 Book E)
which was read and adopted

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets and
Improvements brought up a Report (Number 233 Book E)
which was read and adopted

The Chairman from the Committee on Fire, Water and Gas
brought up a Report (Number 234 Book E)
which was read and adopted

On motion of Ald: Whiting seonded by Ald: Smythe

Ordered, That the Committee on Fire, Water and Gas
be instructed to obtain the opinion of the City Solicitor as to
what power the City have to compel the Water Works Company
to carry out their pipe or filter to a sufficient distance to
secure pure water

Ald: Whiting from the Select Committee appointed to
proceed to Toronto submitted proposed Amendments to Assessments
and Municipal Acts which were read

On Motion of Ald: Whiting seconded by Ald: Smythe

Ordered, That the part of the report of the special
Committee on Amendments to the Municipal and Assessment
Acts headed proposed Amendments to the Municipal Acts be received
and adopted

On motion of Ald: Whiting seconded by Ald: Bermingham

Ordered, That the part of the Report of the Special Committee
on Amendments to the Municipal and Assessment Acts headed Proposed
Amendment to the Municipal Acts numbered 3.4.5.6.7.8.9 and 10 be
received and adopted
