Telegrams from the Assessment Commissioner Ottawa was
read In Re Amendents to Municipal and Assessment Acts.

A Communication from Garrett Francis was read asking
to be releived of his Coal Oil Contract owing to ill health and
enclosing Doctors Certificate. Referred to the Committee on Fire
Water and Gas to ask for Tenders.

A Communication from David Pugh Re Assessment was
read and referred the Court of Revision.

A Circular from Pratt & Tracy Publishers Stratford was read
In Re Municipal Councillors Hand Book. There was no action taken thereon.

Ald W. T. Crothers brought up the petition of D. Donoghue per
J.D. praying he may be granted permission to extend his Wharf
East side of Ontario street.

On motion of Ald Crothers seconded by Ald McGuire
Ordered, That the petition of D. Donoghue be granted
under the existing By Laws.

Aldmn Creeggan & Clements brought up the petition of Thomas
Dyke and John McCammon respecting Taxes. Referred to the Court
of Revision.

On motion of Ald Smyth seconded by Ald Clements
Ordered, That the unexpended portion of the Park
Appropriations be respectively carried over to the credit of
each Park for the year 1884.

On motion of Ald Creeggan seconded by Ald R. J. Carson
Ordered, That the Finance Committee be directed to
provide the sum of $160.00 for the portrait of His Worship the
Mayor. (This Resolution was put by the Clerk).

The Mayor left the Chair
Ald McIntyre was appointed Chairman

On motion of Ald Smythe seconded by Ald R.J. Carson
Ordered, That the thanks of this Council be tendered
to His Worship the Mayor for his courteous Conduct in the Chair
during the year 1883. (Carried unanimously) the Members standing

Ald McIntyre left the Chair.
The Mayor resumed the same.

On Motion of Ald McIntyre seconded by Ald Gildersleeve
Ordered, That this Council desire to record their sympathy
with Ald Allen in his present illness and further express the
hope that the Venerable Alderman will soon be able to take
his accustomed place around the Council Board.

On Motion the Council adjourned.
