Ald McGuire brought up the petition of W. J. Webster
for a remission of Auctioneers License. Referred to the
Committee on Licenses.

On motion of Ald T. Wilson seconded by Ald Downing
Ordered, That it be an instruction to the Committee
on Fire Water and Gas to report upon the questions of a
fire alarm at or near the Grove Inn King Street.

Ald Redden brought up the petition of Robert T.
Mowat praying he may be allowed to enclose eight feet of
the plank walk on Princess Street &c.

On motion of Ald Redden seconded by Ald Whiting
Ordered, That the petition of Robert Mowat be granted
on the usual conditions.

Ald Dunn brought up the petition of the Governors
of the Kingston Hospital asking that a gas lamp be
placed opposite the Hospital. Referred to the Committee on
Fire Water and Gas.

Ald Dunn moved seconded by Ald Quigley
That the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars
$150 be granted for the extension of drain on Bay Street and
that the Finance Committee provide funds for the same.

In amendment
Ald McIntyre moves seconded by Ald R.J. Carson
That in case the Finance Committee see fit to grant
the sum of $150 asked for said sum be charged equally
against Frontenac and Cataraqui Wards which being
put was carried. Yeas 11 Nays 8.

On motion of Ald J. Wilson seconded by Ald Downing.
Ordered, That one of the available lamps coal
oil for Victoria Ward be placed at the entrance of the
Kingston General Hospital.

On motion the Council adjourned.
