On motion of Ald J Wilson seconded by Ald Gildersleeve
Ordered, That the matter of the proposed
new Hydrant to be placed near the Orphans Home
be referred to the Finance Committee to provide
funds for the erection of said Hydrant

On motion of Ald J Carson seconded by Ald Shaw
Ordered, That David Halls appointment
as second assistant Engineer be approved of by this
Council

Ald RJ Carson here left the Council Chamber

There being no quorum the meeting adjourned

A meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City
of Kingston was held this day. Present

His Worship The Mayor
Aldermen
Allen, John Carson, RJ Carson, Clements, Crothers,
Creeggan, Downing, Dunn, Gildersleeve, Irving,
Law, McGuire, McIntyre, Quigley, Redden, Shaw,
Smythe, Whiting, J Wilson

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meetings

On motion of Ald J Carson seconded by Ald Shaw
Ordered, That the appointment of D Hall be
reconsidered and be referred back to the Committee of Fire
Water and Gas to report.

A Communication from the Firemen was read
was read [sic] relative to the appointment of D Hall as
second Assistant Engineer.

On motion of Ald J Carson seconded by Ald Shaw
Ordered That the Communication in the matter of the
appointment of the second Assistant Engineer be referred
back to the Committee on Fire, Water and Gas to report.

The Council went into Committee of the whole on the
second reading of the "By Law respecting the shooting, firing and
setting off of guns, pistols, revolvers and other Fire Arms
in the City
