On motion of Ald Smythe seconded by Ald McIntyre
Ordered, That the City Engineer be instructed
Re have the grass cut in the streets in front of the
Parks, Cricket ground and all City Property and
on such other principal streets as may be authorised
under the direction of teh Chairman and Committee on
Streets

A Communication from the Department of the
Interior at Ottawa was read stating that a lease
of the Ordnance Property—known as the "Market Battery"
has been granted to the Kingston and Pembroke Railway
for a term of Ninety nine years

A Communication from John McColl in Re
Fence recovered was read

A Communication from Jaemes Marshall Fraser &c
was read asking for a remisison of Taxes on Hall in
Orange Buldings occupied by Salvation Army. Referred
to the Court of Revision

A Communication from Robert Shaw Esquire
Barrister &c was read stating Charles Fields has sustained
damage by the flooding of his house and premises and
asking the Council to remedy the evils. Referred to the
Committee on Streets.

A Deed of Land from Jacob Bajus and Wife was
submitted to the Council Lot Queen Street on line of Bagot
street.

Ald Smythe brought up the petition Messrs
George Davidson and 5 others praying the
Council to open up and sink deeper to the main
sewer on Ontario street. Referred to the Committee on Streets &c

Ald Crothers brought up the petition of James
Daley respecting transient Traders License

It was moved and seconded that it be referred to
the Mayor

In amendment
Ald Smythe moves seconded by Ald McIntyre
That the petition of James Daly be referred
to the Finance Committee to report which being
put was carried and the original motion was lost

Ald Dunn brought up the petition of the Sisters
of House of Providence respecting drainage on
Bay Street. Referred to the Committee on Streets.

On motion the council adjourned.
