A Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of
the City of Kingston was held this day. Present
His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen:
Allen, RJ Carson, Clements, Crothers, Creeggan,
Downing, Dunn, Gildersleeve, Irving, Law,
McIntyre, Quigley, Redden, Shaw, Smythe,
Whiting, J Wilson
The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting
Ald Allen introduced a By Law to amend the By Law
intituled "A By Law to grant licenses for the sale of
Fresh meat in less quantities than by the quarter
carcass and to improve a license fee therfor and for other
purposes which was read a first time.
Ald Gildersleeve from the Committee on Finance
and accounts brought up a Report (Number 189 Book E)
which was read and adopted.
Ald Allen from the Committee on Streets and
Improvements brought up a Report (Number 190 Book E)
which was read
On motion of Ald Smythe seconded by Ald RJ Carson
Ordered, That the report of the Streets Committee
so far as it relates to the Ward and Special appropriations
be referred to the Finance Committee to report when bringing
in the Budget report and that subject to each reservation
the report be accepted.

Ald Shaw from the Committee on Fire, Water and Gas
brought up a Report (Number 191 Book E) which was
read and adopted.
A Communicaiton from the Revd Thomas Kelly Secy
to His Worship Bishop Cleary In Re Ringing St Mary's
Cathedral Bell in cases of fire. Referred to the Committee
on Fire, Water and Gas.
Communications from the City Solicitor were read in
Re Mrs Hemsley and Mrs Levan
On motion of Ald RJ Carson seconded by Ald McIntyre
Ordered, That the Communications of the City Solicitor
be referred to the Finance Committee with instructions to look
into the matter and defend the suits of necessary
Ald J Carson here entered.
A Communication from James Agnew Esquire, City Solicitor
was read In Re opening up Bagot street
