A Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the
City of Kingston was held this day Present

His Worship the Mayor

Aldermen
Allen, J. Carson, R.J. Carson, Clements
Creeggan, Downing, Dunn, Gildersleeve
Irving, Law, McIntyre, Quigley, Redden
Shaw, Smythe, Whiting, J. Wilson, W. Wilson

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting

The Council went into Committee of the whole on
the second reading of the Consolidation of the City By Laws

Ald: Irving in the Chair

The Council resumed

The Committee rose reported progress and asked leave
to sit again. The Report was received

Ald: McIntyre moves seconded by Ald: Gildersleeve
That the By Law to exempt the real and
personal property of the Montreal Transportation Company
and of the Kingston and Montreal Forwarding Company
from Municipal and School Taxes for a period of ten
years on certain conditions be read a third time

In Amendment

Ald: R.J. Carson moves seconded by Ald: Allen
That this By Law be printed and distributed
amongst the members of the Council before being read a
third time - which being put was lost

On motion of Ald: McIntyre seconded by Ald: Gildersleeve
Ordered, That the word liquidated be substituted
for the word unliquidated damages in the section a of
3rd clause, as such word unliquidated was a mere clerical
error

Ald: R.J. Carson moves seconded by Ald: Allen
That the word real property by struck out of
the By Law in each case where named in By Law - which
being put was lost.
