The Mayor submitted Writ of summons: Crambly vs
City with which he was served. Referred to the City Solicitor
Ald: McIntyre brought up the petition of William
Newlands asking for a Drain to be made in Barrie
street between Division and Queen streets. Referred to the
Committee on Streets and Improvements
Ald: Creeggan brought up the petition of James Daly
asking to be rented the space under the verandah of the
shambles fronting on Brock street. Referred to the
Committee on the Market
Ald: Whiting brought up the petition of Benjamin
Barney et al praying for a remission of the fines &c
imposed on them. Referred to the Finance Committee
Ald: Allen brought up the petition of John Doolan
and 64 others praying for a Free market on meat
Ald: Allen gives notice that he will at the next
meeting of the Council introduce a By Law to alter the
By Law for the sale of fresh meat
Ald: Dunn brought up the petition of Mrs Eliza Swain
praying Compensation for damages caused by the flooding
of her Cellar. Referred to the Committee on Streets and
Improvements

Taxes - no action thereon being already disposed of
