A meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City
of Kingston was held this day Present

His Worship the Mayor

Aldermen
Allen, John Carson, R.J. Carson, Crothers, Creeggan
Downing, Dunn, Gildersleeve, Irving, Law
McGuire, McIntyre, Quigley, Redden, Shaw
Smythe. Whiting, J. Wilson, W. Wilson

The Clerk read the minutes of the two last meetings

The Council went into Committee of the whole on the
second reading of the consolidation of the By Laws

Ald: Crothers in the Chair

The Council resumed

The Committee rose, reported progress and asked leave
to sit again. The Report was received

Ald: Smythe from the Committee on Finance and
Accounts brought up a Report ( Number 174 Book E.)
which was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets
and Improvements brought up a Report (Number
175 Book E.) which was read and adopted

The Chairman from the Committee on Fire, Water
and Gas brought up a Report (Number 176 Book E.)
which was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Printing
brought up a Report (Number 177 Book E.) which
was read and adopted

The Chairman from the Committee on Licenses &b
brought up a Report (Number 178 Book E) which was
read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Fire,
Water & Gas presented a communication from John
Kerr Esquire Manager of the Gas Light Company
Kingston which was read In Re lighting the Gas Lights
during all night. Referred to the Committee on
Fire, Water and Gas

A Communication from James McGowan was read
asking for a remission of Fare. Referred to the Finance
Committee.

A Communication from Messrs Sabre Brothers was
read complaining of a Nuisance caused by cars running
at large. Referred to the Committee on Streets &c

A Communication from F.T. Beach was read in
Re Water Works. Referred to the Select Committee on
Water Works

A Communication from James Agnew City Solicitor
was read In Re acts passed by the Ontario Legislature at
its
