Ald Smythe brought up the petition of William Power
praying for an extension of time for completing the Dry dock
under construction (Three years)

On motion of Ald RJ Carson seconded by Ald Smythe
Ordered, That the prayer of the petition of William
Power be granted

Ald McIntyre brought up the petition of Cornelius
Millan praying for a rebate of six months Butchers
License.

On motion of Ald McGuire seconded by Ald McIntyre
Ordered, That the prayer of the petition of Cornelius
Milan be granted.

Ald McIntyre brought up the petition of the Reeve and
Council of the Township of Wolfe Island praying the Council
to cause such improvements to be made at the foot of William
street as well enable parties travelling on the Ice to enter the City
with safety. Referred to the Mayor with power to act.

The Mayor here left the chair at the request of
the Council

Ald JP Gildersleeve was appointed Chairman

On motion of Ald McIntyre seconded by Ald CF Gildersleeve
Ordered, That His Worship The Mayor be authorised
on behalf of this Council to open a correspondence with the
Montreal Transportation Company, with a view of possible
to secure the retention of the said Companys operations
within this Corporation, and further that this Council hereby
record their willingness to do all in their power to effect
such result.

Ald JP Gildersleeve here left the chair

On motion of Ald JP Gildersleeve seconded by Ald John Carson
Ordered, That all balances remaining at the
credit of the different Wards and Parks on 31st December
1882 be carried forward to the credit of the same accounts
for the year 1883.

On motion of Ald Smythe seconded by Ald RJ Carson
Ordered, That this Council desires to place on
record its sense of the loss that this Council and the City
generally sustains by the retirement of Aldermen
McCammon, JP Gildersleeve, Dupuis, Craig & Little & to thank
those gentlemen for the zeal and fidelity with which they
performed their aldermance duties

On motion of Ald Dupuis seconded by Ald McIntyre
Orderd, That a vote of thanks be now
tendered to Mayor Gaskin for the efficient
manner in which he has filled the Office of Chief
Magistrate of the City of Kingston for the year 1882.

A Communication from the Department of Immigration
Toronto In Re Market fees was read & Referred to Market Committee.

On motion the council adjourned.
