A Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the
City of Kingston was held this day. Present

His Worship The Mayor
Aldermen
Allen, John Carson, RJ Carson, Clements,
Creeggan, Downing, Dupuis, CF Gildersleeve,
Gordon, Irving, Law, McCammon, McGuire,
McIntyre, Quigley, Redden, Smythe, Wilson

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting

The Mayor submitted and read his report of the
years transactions

Ald McIntyre from the Committee on Finance
and Accounts brought up a Report (Number 166 Book E)
which was read and adopted.

On motion of Ald Allen seconded by Ald Law
Ordered, That the amounts spent over their
appropriations in the different wards be paid according
to the Mayor's statement and that the amounts paid be
charged against their next years appropriations

The Chairman from the Court of Revision In Re
Vessel taxation - brought up a Report (Number 167
Book E) which was read and adopted

A Communication from DJ Dick was read for a
remission of Rent of the City Hall on the occasion of
Tea Meeting Brock street church

On motion of Ald Redden seconded by Ald McCammon
Ordered, That a sum equivalent to the amount
paid be refunded to the Brock street Presbyterian Chu8rch

A Communication from the Department of Railways
was read stating the petitions in Re Shedden Company
have been transmitted to the General Manager of the Grand
Trunk Railway Company

A Communication from SS Snook Esquire was read
respecting his account. Referred to the Finance Committee

A Communication from EH Smythe Esquire Barrister
&c was read stating he has been instructed by Mrs Crumley
to take proceedings against the Corporation for damages to
premises on Union street. Referred to the City Solicitor

A Communication from Messrs Kirkpatrick and
Rogers was read informing the Council they are authorised to
state that the Kingston and Pembroke Railway Company
will quit claim their right to Lots 1 & 2 in Easterly side
of Wellington street on certain conditions. Referred to the
Committee on City Property

A Communication from James Agnew Esquire, City Solicitor
was read on the foregoing subject.
