Ordered that the following members of the Council
be a deputation to meet the County Council with the view of
getting that body to increase the grant made to the Provincial
Fair as the expenditure to accommodate the Fair was very large-
His Worship The Mayor, Aldermen Smythe, McIntyre, McGuire,
Irving, Allen and the mover.

On motion the Council adjourned.

A Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City
of Kingston was held this day. Present

His Worship The Mayor
Aldermen
Allen, John Carson, RJ Carson, Clements,
Craig, Creeggan, Downing, Dupuis, CF Gildersleeve,
JP Gildersleeve, Gordon, Irving, Law, Little,
McCammon, McGuire, McIntyre, Quigley,
Redden, Smythe, Wilson

The Clerk read the Minutes of the last meeting.

Ald RJ Carson introduced a By Law to appoint
Deputy Returning officers and places for holding the
next ensuing Election for the City of Kingston which
was read a first time.

The 31st Rule of Council was suspended for the
evening as regards the readings of the Election By Law
and the Council went into Committee of the whole on
the second reading

The Council resumed

The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the
second reading of the By Law clause by clause. The
Report was received.

The By Law was read a third time and passed.

Ald Allen moves seconded by Ald Wilson
That the vote on the Returning officers in Cataraqui
Ward be reconsidered - which being put was lost.
