The Council resumed

The Committee rose, and the Chairman reported the
second reading of the By Law clause by clause. The Report
was received

The 30th Rule was suspended and the By Law
was read a third time and passed.

A Communication from Edwin Horsey Chief Engineer
of the Fire Department of this City was read tendering his
resignation. Referred to the Committee on Fire, Water
and Gas

A Communication from Matthew Bateson was
read applying for the Office of Chief of the Fire Department
Referred to the Committee on Fire, Water and Gas

A Communication from Lewis W. Shannon Proprietor
of the News was read stating he is delayed in the
printing of the Consolidated By Laws of the City. Referred
to Ald: Smythe

A Requisition from Andres Lanigan for a supply
of Cord-wood for the City Building during the winter
season. Referred to the Mayor

On motion of Ald: Gordon seconded by Ald: J. Carson
Ordered, that the members of the Fire Brigade
be paid six months salary

The Council went into Committee of the whole
on the Consolidation of the By Laws (second reading)

Ald: Craig in the Chair

The Council resumed

The Committee rose without reporting - there being no quorum

The Meeting adjourned for want of a quorum
