Ald CF Gildersleeve moves seconded by Ald Downing
That the report be amended by striking out all that part
relating to the petition of Mary Crumley and that such petition
be referred back to the Committee

In amendment 2nd
Ald Smythe moves seconded by Ald Dupuis
That the report be amended in clause as to Mrs Crumley's
communication by strking out the words "with power to act"
which being put was carried and the original motion and first
amendment thereto were lost.

The Report was adopted as amended.

A Circular from JR Adamson Manager Canada West Land
and Agency Company was read and referred to the Finance Committee

Ald RJ Carson brought up the petition of William Walker
praying for an Auctioneers License to the end of the year at one half
the amount of the yearly license.

On motion of Ald RJ Carson seconded by Ald McIntyre
Ordered, That the petition of William Walker be granted

Ald Allen brought up the petition of James
Minnes and seven others praying for a crossing on
Princess street opposite their several places of business

On motion of Ald Allen seconded by Ald Clements
Ordered, That the petition of James Minnes
and others be referred to the Chairman on Streets and
Ald Allen with power to act - the expense to be
taken equally out of each of the Wards connected

On motion of Ald McIntyre seconded by Ald Dupuis
Ordered, that in consideration of the frequent reports
of the inefficient manner in which the Pound-keeper is
discharging his duties, His Worship the Mayor be requested
to have that official notified that he must be more alert
in the performance of the duties for the future.

On motion of Ald Smythe seconded by
Ordered That in the event of there being no
meeting of the Council on Monday next - That the Mayor
and Market Committee be requested to award the lease
of the Market Tolls

Ald CF Gildersleeve brought up the petition of
John McMillan in Re Taxation

On motion of CF Gildersleeve seconded by Ald Craig
Ordered, That the petition of John McMillan be
referred to the Finance Committee to report

On motion the Council adjourned
