Ald: McCammon brought up the petition of the Evangelical
Alliance Branch of Kingston calling the attention of the Council
to the lawlessness and immorality of the youth
growing up in our midst and praying the evils complained
of be remedied &c. Referred to the Board of Police Commissioners
and License Commissioners of Kingston respectively

Ald Gordon brought up the petitions of Thomas O'Brien
and Mr Levan respecting Dog Tax. Referred to the Court of
Revision

Ald: Gordon brought up the petition of John Branigan
complaining of an overflow of water into his cellar and praying
it may be remedied. Referred to the Committee on Streets
and Improvements

Several members of the Council having left the Council
Chamber there being no quorum the meeting adjourned

A Special meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the
City of Kingston was held this day. Present

Allen, John Carson, Clements, Craig, Downing
C.F. Gildersleeve, J.P. Gildersleeve, Gordon, McCammon
McGuire, McIntyre, Quigley, Redden, Smythe

The Mayor stated the meeting was called to take into consideration
the reception of the Hon: A.P. Caron Minister of
Militia and Defence and the Members of the House of Commons
accompanying him on their arrival here on Saturday next to
visit the Royal Military College

On Motion of Ald: McIntyre seconded by Ald: Smythe
Ordered, that the Members of the Council and the
Citizens named below be a Committee to make arrangements
for the reception of the Honorable A.P. Caron minister of
Militia and Defense and the members of the House of Commons
on their arrival on Saturday next and during their stay here
and to prepare an address for the occasion -vis.-
