Ald: John Carson brought up the petition of George Brown
respecting Taxes

On motion of Ald: J. Carson seconded by Ald: Gage
Ordered, that the petition of George Brown be referred
to the Court of Revision

Ald: McCammon from the Committee on Finance and
Accounts brought up a Report (Number 102 Book E.) which
was read and adopted

The Chairman from the Select Committee on Consolidation
of By Laws brought up a Report (Number 103 Book E) which
was read and adopted

On Motion of Ald: J.P. Gildersleeve seconded by Ald: Robinson
Ordered, that the Committee on Fire, Water and Gas
be instructed to devise some plan for the better lighting of the
City Clock by means of proper reflectors or otherwise and to
report said plan to this Council

The Council went into Committee of the whole on the
second reading of the By Law intituted a By Law to regulate
the public markets of the City of Kingston.

Ald Smythe in the Chiar
The Council resumed.

The Committee rose and the Chiarman reported the
second reading of the By Law in Committee of the whole. The
Report was received.

The 29 Rule was suspended and the By Law
was read a third time and passed.

The Council went into Committee of the whole on the
second reading of the By Law to amend the Fresh Meat By Law.

The Council resumed.

The Committee rose and the Chiarman reported the second
was lost. The Report was received Yeas 14 Nays 5

Ald Gaskin introduced a By Law to partially exempt
the property real and personal of the Kingston and Pembroke
Railway Company in the City of Kingston and Pembroke
Railway Company in the City of Kingston from Municipal
and School Taxes which was read a first time.

The Council went into Committee of the Whole on
the second reading.
