A meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of Kingston
was held this day: -Present

His Worship The Mayor

Aldermen: Allen, Anglin, John Carson, R.J. Carson, Clements, Gage
Gaskin, Gordon, Irving, Law, McCammon, McGuire,
McMahon, Newlands, Robinson, J. Wilson

The Clerk read the minutes of the two last meetings

A Communication from William Harty Esquire was read
acknowledging receipt of letter appointing him Arbitrator for the City.

A Communication from F. Elkington County Clerk was read
acknowledging receipt of notice notifying him of the appointment of
William Harty Esquire as arbitrator for the City.

On motion of Ald: Irving seconded by Ald: R.J. Carson
Ordered, That the communications of Messrs Wm Harty
and F. Elkington be referred to the Committee on Finance

Ald: McCammon brought up the petition of John Roach
and others complaining of a nuisance on account of pelts and
hides being stored in a building belonging to John Smith, and
praying to have the Nuisance abated.

On motion of Ald: Robinson seconded by Ald: McGuire
Ordered, That the petition of Mr. J. Roach and others be
referred to the Board of Health

Ald: J. Carson brought up the petition of George Sears in
reference to taxes

On motion of Ald: J. Carson seconded by Ald: Gage
Ordered, That the petition of George Sears be referred to the
Court of Revision.

A Requisition from the messenger was read asking for
70 cords hard wood for use of buildings.

On motion of Ald: Irving seconded by Ald: McMahon
Ordered, that it be an instruction to the Committee on City
Property to advertise for tenders for supply of fuel for the use
of City Buildings, with power to accept the lowest tender

Ald Irving from the Committee on Finance and Accounts
brought up a report (Number 95. Book E.) which was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets and Improvements
brought up a Report (Number 96. Book E.) which was read and
adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Licneses, Cabs and
Carters brought up a Report (Number 97, Book E) which was
read.

Ald: J.P. Gildersleeve here entered

Ald: McGuire moves seconded by Ald: J. Carson
That the Report of the Committee on Licenses, Cabs and
Carters be received and adopted.
