That the report of Fire, Water and Gas be received
and adopted

In amendment
Ald JP Gildersleeve moves seconded by Ald J Wilson
That the report be amended by substituting
the name "N. Cartmill" for that of "A. Burke" which being
put was carrired and the Report was adopted as amended.

On motion the Council adjourned

A Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of
Kingston was held this day. Present

Aldermen
Allen, Anglin, RJ Carson, Gage, Gaskin,
Irving, McCammon, McGuire, McMahon,
Newlands, Robinson, J. Wilson

The reading of the minutes of the last meeting was waived.

Ald Irving from the Committee on Finance and
Accounts brought up a Report (Number 93 Book E) which
was read.

On motion of Ald Irving seconded by Ald RJ Carson
Ordered, That the report of the Committee on Finance
except Item No 3 be received and adopted.

Ald Irving introduced "A By Law to appoint an
Arbitrator" as to the compensation to be paid the County of
Frontenace for the use of the Gaol and for the care and maintenance
of the City Prisoners which was read a first time

The 29^th Rule was suspended for the evening and the
Council went into Committee of the Whole on the second
reading.

Ald McCammon in the chair.
The Council resumed.

The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second
reading of the By Law clause by clause. The Report was
received.

The By Law was read a third time and passed.
