A meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of
Kingston was held this day. Present
His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Allen, Anglin, John Carson, RJ Carson, Gage,
Gaskin, Gordon, Irving, Law, McCammon, McMahon,
Robinson, J Wilson, W Wilson
The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting
A Communication from the Kingston Street Railway Company
was read on the subject of repairs to track
On motion of Ald Gaskin seconded by Ald Robinson
Ordered, That the Communication of LC McGill in
reference to repairs to track on Street Railway be referred to the Street
Committee
A Communication from John Stewart Esquire MD was read
In Re Mayors salary &c. Ordered to be on the table for the present
Notice from the County of Frontenac was read in the
matter of Gaol expensess &c and appointment of Arbitrator
On motion of Ald Carson seconded by Ald Irving
Ordered, That the communication of the Warden of the
county be referred to the Cmmittee on Finance with power to
select an Arbitrator and report to the Council
The Mayor submitted on account from the County of
Frontenac and a communication from the Township Clerk of the
Rear of Leeds and Lansdown which were read - the latter relative
to the purchase of road action line
Ald McCammon brought up the petition of Patrick
Nugent and Rachel Godwin respecting taxes which were
read and referred to the Court of Revision
Ald Gage brought up the petition of John Breden and
88 others praying the Council will prevent the erection of Stables
in the vicinity of the property of petitioners
On motion of Ald Gage seconded by Ald J Carson
Ordered, That the petition of John Breden and 88
in relation to Street Railway be referred to the Streets Committee
to report
Ald Allen brought up the petition of John J Maloney
respecting taxes which was read and referred to the Court of
Revision
Ald JP Gildersleeve here entered
Ald McCammon from the Committee on Finance and Accounts
brought up a Report (Number 91 Book E) which was read and
adopted.
The Chairman from the Committee on Fire, Water and
Gas brought up a Report (Number 92 Book E) which was
read
Ald W Wilson moves seconded by Ald Irving
