action with the Grand Trunk Railway.
Ald: John Carson brought up the petition of James Campbell
respecting Taxes
On motion of Ald: J. Carson seconded by Ald: Gage
Ordered, that the petition of J. Campbell be referred to
the Court of Revision
Ald: Gaskin brought up the petition of Thomas Flanagan and
17 others for a change in the Cab stands and amendment to By Law
On motion of Ald: Gaskin seconded by Ald: Anglin
Ordered, that the petition of Thomas Flanagan and other
Cabmen in reference to stand and other matters be referred to the
Committee on Licenses, Cabs and Carters to report
Ald: Gaskin brought up the petition of Patrick Devlin and
3 others on behalf of the Cabmen was read on the subject of a Bus being
granted a stand by the Grand Trunk Railway authorities at the Depot &c
On motion of Ald: Gaskin seconded by Ald: Anglin
Ordered, that the petition of Patrick Devlin and others on
behalf of the licensed Cabmen of the City in reference to fair play at
Grand Trunk Station be referred to Committee on Licensed Cabs and
Carters to report.
Ald: Anglin brought up the petition of Andrew McLean
respecting frontage
On motion of Ald: Anglin seconded by Ald: Gaskin
Ordered, that the petition of Andrew McLean be
referred to the Committee on Streets with power to act
Ald: Newlands brought up the petition of Patrick Power
and 57 others praying for a Coal Oil Lamp at the Corner of Clergy
and Ordnance streets Frontenac Ward
On Motion of Ald: Newlands seconded by Ald: Gaskin
Ordered, that the petition of Patrick Power in reference
to Coal Oil Lamp be referred to the Committee on Fire, Water
and Gas to report
On motion of Ald: Gaskin seconded by Ald: R.J. Carson
Ordered, that the following Aldermen be a Committee
to meet the Committee appointed by the County Council for the
purpose of procuring the Provincial Exhibition for the year 1882
Messrs Robinson, R.J. Carson, J. Wilson, McMahon, Clements, Irving
and mover
The Mayor presented a Report (No 84 Book E) respecting the
Telephone Poles which was read and adopted
On motion of Ald: Smythe seconded by Ald: J. Wilson
Ordered, that the mayor be authorised to issue the usual
proclamation making Dominion Day a public Holiday
