read a first time the 30th day of May 1881.

The Council went into Committee of the whole on the
second reading

Ald: Irving in the Chair

The Council resumed

The Committee rose and the Chairman repeated the second
reading of the By Law clause by Clause. The Report was
received

The 29th Rule of Council was suspended and the
By Law was read a third time and passed

On motion the Council adjourned

Kingston was held this day Present

Anglin, R.J. Carson, Clements, Gage, C.F. Gildersleeve
J.P. Gildersleeve, Gordon, Irving, Law, McCammon
McGuire, McMahon, Robinson, Smythe, J. Wilson

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting

A Communication from Thomas H. McGuire Esquire
Alderman asking the Council for leave of absence for two
months. Granted

A Communication from Messrs Kirkpatrick and Rogers
was read complaining of the erection of Posts by the Bell
Telephone Company

On motion of Ald: Smythe seconded by Ald: C.F. Gildersleeve
Ordered, that the communication of Messrs Kirkpatrick
and Rogers be referred to the mayor and Chairman of Streets be
referred with power to act.

A Communication from G.M. Macdonnell Esquire was
read offering the sum of seven hundred and fifty dollars for the
purchase of the lots lying between the hay market an the
Waters edge. left over

Ald: Newlands here entered

A Communication from John Shaw was read respecting
Taxes Cataraqui Bridge

On motion of Ald: R.J. Carson seconded by Ald: McCammon
Ordered, that the Communication of John Shaw be
referred
