Ald: Gordon brought up the petition of J.H. Metcalfe
Esquire praying the Council to amend the City By Laws regarding
Auctioneers

On motion of Ald: Gordon seconded by Ald: McCammon
Ordered, that the petition of Mr J. H. Metcalfe be referred
to the Committee On Licenses to report

Ald Gaskin from the Committee On Finance and Accounts
brought up a report (Number 76 Book E.) which was read
and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee On Streets & Improvements
brought up a Report in Re Appropriations Wards + Streets &c
which was read

Ald: Robinson moves seconded by Ald: Allen
That the report of the Committee on Streets to be
reviewed and adopted and the Finance Committee be requested
to provide for the same

In Amendment
Ald: C.F. Gildersleeve moves seconded by Ald: Gaskin
that the report of the Committee On Streets & Improvements
be received and that it be referred to the Finance Committee to be
Considered with the Budget. which being put was lost. Yeas 8.
Nays 8. The original motion was declared out of order

That the report of the Committee on Streets be
referred to the Finance Committee to report
