Ald: J.P. Gildersleeve brought up the petition of
the Kingston Knitting Company asking that they may
be granted exemption from Taxation on said premesis
for the term of ten years

On motion of Ald J.P. Gildersleeve seconded by Ald:
Clements
Ordered, That the petition of the Kingston
Knitting Company be referred to the Finance Committee
to report upon at the same meeting of this Council as
the Cotton Company's petition shall be reported on

Ald: Robinson introduced a By Law to Confirm
the appointment of an arbitrator which was
read a first time

The 29th Rule of Council was suspended for the
evening and
The Council went into Committee of the whole on
the second reading

Alderman Gaskin in the chair

The Council resumed

The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the
second reading of the By Law. The Report was received

The By Law was read a third time and passed

On Motion the Council adjourned to Tuesday evening
April 19 at usual hour instead of monday evening being
Easter Monday
