Company in the Presidents letter of the twenty fourth of
January last past for the period of two years from first
of May next upon the following conditions; that the Company
agree that the City Council at the end of forty years from
the year 1876 have the right on paying expenses of removal
to have the track placed on the adjoining street on either
side to that on which the track is now laid, or at one side
of the street, and that the City Council have the right after
the expiration of 99 years from the year 1876 to take over the
track and plant &c at a valuation by arbitration and also
that the Company agree to abandon their pretended claim to be
able to stop running for any period less than six months and
resume again without incurring any liability or forfeiture and
if parties agree that the agreement between the City and Company
be amended accordingly - which being put was carried.

The Chairman from the Committee on Licenses &c brought
up a Report (Number 63 Book E) which was read and adopted

Ald McMahon brought up the petition of John Reeve
praying for a remission of six months Town LIcense

On motion of Ald McMahon seconded by Ald RJ Carson
Ordered, That the petition of John Reeve be allowed
a reduction of six months on the City portion of License it being
a similar case to Mr Waggoner's.

Ald Allen introduced a By Law to amend "The By Law
to grant Licenses for the sale of Fresh Meat in less quantities
than by the quarter carcass and to impose a license fee therefor
and for other purposes which was read a first time

Ald Robinson introduced a By Law respecting the sale of Fresh
meat and to repeal a By Law relating thereto which was read a
first time

Ald CF Gildersleeve introduced a By Law on Rules and
Orders of Council which was read a first time

On motion of Ald CF Gildersleeve seconded by Ald RJ Carson
Ordered, That the By Law on Rules and Orders be printed and
distributed amongst the members of the Council before its next meeting

On motion the Council adjourned
