The Mayor reported the result of the movement by the
Various Citys and Towns against the Government act favoring
the abolition of market Fees and stated that though the bill had
been stayed for this session Parliament had made it illegal
to leave the markets longer than March 31st 1882
The Report of the Mayor was submitted in Re utilization
of Police Force for the purpose of enforcing City By Laws

brought up a Report (Number 60 Book E) which was read
and adopted

That the report (No2) of the Committee on Finance be
received and adopted

That the report of the Finance Committee be amended
by striking out the $ 2850.00 for the Collegiate Institute and
inserting in lieu thereof $2000.00 which being put was
lost

That all in the first clause after the words "Your
Committe recommend" in the report of the Committee on Streets
be struck out and the following be substituted: that without
prejudice this Council do grant the Concession asked for by the
Company
