A meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of Kingston
was held this day Present

His Worship the Mayor

Aldermen
Allen, Anglin, J. Carson, R.J. Carson, Clements
Gage, Gaskin, J.P. Gildersleeve, Irving, Law
Maloney, McMahon, Newlands, Robinson, Smythe
J. Wilson

The Clerk read the minutes of the three last meetings

A Copy of the By Laws from the City of London to the
City of Kingston was presented

On motion of J.P. Gildersleeve seconded by Ald: Clements
Ordered, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby
instructed to acknowledge the receipt from the Corporation
of the City of London of the very handsome Copy of the
Consolidated By Laws of said Corporation and to tender the
thanks of this Council therefor

A Circular from Lt. Col: Otter was read asking
for a subscription to the Ontario Rifle Association Prize List for
the current year. There was no action taken thereon

A Communication from Edward Garvin was read
on the subject of Compensation for the amount of land taken
from him for the use of Montreal street

On motion of Ald: Gaskin seconded by Ald: Allen
Ordered, that the Communication of Edward Garvin
be referred to the Committee on Streets to report.

A Communication from James Agnew Esquire C.S
was read informing the Council that the Bill to Confirm the
Assessment of the City of Kingston has been passed

A Communication from Samuel H. Fee MD was
read respecting Drain

On motion of Ald: Gaskin seconded by Ald: R.J. Carson
Ordered, that the Communication of Dr Fee in
reference to Princess street drain be referred to the Committee
on Streets to report.

A Communication from the Provincial Sectetarys
office Toronto was read in Re Ferry between Wolfe Island
and Kingston

On motion of Ald: Gaskin R.J. Carson seconded by Ald: Allen
Ordered, that the Communication of the Provincial
Secretary be referred to the Committee on Wharves and
Harbor to report

A Communication from M. Crawley was read in
Re Compensation for damages to personal property by
imperfect drainage

On motion of Ald: Gaskin seconded by Ald: Allen
Ordered, that the Communication of M. Crawley
on
