A Communication from George A. Kirkpatrick Secretary
Collegiate Institute was read making application for the sum
of $2.850.00 for the support and maintenance of the Collegiate
Institute for the year 1881 &c

On motion of Ald: McCammon seconded by Ald: Gaskin
Ordered, that the Communication of the Secretary of the
Collegiate Institute be referred to the Finance Committee to report

A Requisition from the Chief of Police was read calling for
memoranda Books &c. Referred to the Mayor

The Mayor submitted a statement of Receipts and Disbursements
of the Kingston General Hospital from 1st Oct 1879 to 30th Sept 1880, also
the Annual Report of the Directors of the Cataraqui Bridge Company
and also a Report from the Superintendant of the House of Industry

Ald: Robinson brought up the petition of William McKee and
324 others praying the Council to repeal the ByLaw passed May 19
1879 putting a license on fresh meat sold by retail

On motion of Ald: Robinson seconded by Ald: Law
Ordered, that the petition of William McKee and others concerning
fresh meat be received

Ald: Robinson gives notice that he will bring in a By Law to repeal
the By Law passed May 19 1879 putting a License on Fresh meat sold
by retail

Ald: Allen brought up the petitions of Alexander
Begg and William Waggoner praying for remission of License

On motion of Ald: Allen seconded by Ald: McGuire
Ordered, that the petitions of Alexander Begg and
William Waggoner be referred to the Committee on Licenses
to report

On motion of Ald: Gaskin seconded by Ald: McMahon
Ordered, that Alderman McGuire be the
Director to represent the City on the Board of the
Kingston and Pembroke Rail Road

Ald: Gaskin from the Committee on Finance and
Accounts brought up a Report (number 56 Book E.)
which was read and adopted

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets and
Improvements brought up a Report (Number 57 Book E)
which was read and adopted

Ald: McMahon from the Committee On Fire, Water
and Gas brought up a Report (Number 58. Book E.)
which was read and adopted

The Chairman from the Committee On City Property
brought up a Report (number 59 Book E.) which was
read and adopted.

Ald McCammon introduced a By Law to authorize
His Worship the Mayor and the City Treasurer
to borrow ten thousand dollars further to meet current
expenditure which was read a first time
