notices that some of the City Printing has been taken elsewhere

On motion of Ald: Clements seconded by Ald: McGuire
Ordered, that the Communication of Mr. Lewis W.
Shannon be referred to the Printing Committee to investigate

A communication from J. H. Metcalfe Esquire M.P.P
was read stating that the petition forwarded to him was
presented to the Legislature, also one from the office of
the Provincial Secretary acknowledging receipt of petition
in Re Assessment

A Communication from James Agnew Esquire, City Solicitor
was read submitting for Consideration of Council proposed
amendments to the municipal and assessment acts &c

A Circular from Priestman Brothers of Hall & London
was read respecting Patent Dredger

A Communication from John Tetlock was read offering
$100 for Lot number Twenty, adjoining market No2. belonging
to the City.

On motion of Ald: Irving seconded by R.J. Carson
Ordered, that the Communication of John Tetlock in
reference to a lot the property of the City be referred to the
Committee on City Property to report

The Mayor stated that the Clerk was served with a
writ in Re McCartney

Aldn: Clements, W. Wilson and McGuire brought up the
petitions of Herbert J. Saunders, A Livingston and Thomas
Hanley respecting Taxes

On motion of Ald: Clements seconded by Ald: Smythe
Ordered, that the petition of Dr Saunders be referred
to the Court of Revision, also the petitions of Thomas Hanley
and A Livingston

Ald: Allen brought up the petition of Bernard Sheridan
respecting taxes

On motion of Ald: Allen seconded by Ald: Anglin
Ordered, that the petitions of B Sheridan be referred
to the Court of Revision to report.

Ald: McCammon brought up the petition of B. Thorne
respecting taxes

On motion of Ald: McCammon seconded by Ald: Gordon
Ordered, that the petition of B Thorne be referred to the
Committee on Finance to report.

Ald: Robinson brought up the petition of Peter Clark and
four others praying the Council to purchase from them a quantity
of broken stones

Ald: McGuire brought up the petition of Timothy Duffy
praying the Council to purchase his broken stone

On motion of Ald: Robinson seconded by Ald McMahon
Ordered
