In Amendment 3rd
Ald: Gordon moves seconded by Ald: McMahon
That Ald: McCammon's name be submitted for Alderman
Newlands on the Committee of Streets add Improvements and that
Ald: Newlands be placed on the Printing Committee instead
of Ald: McCammon. Which being put was lost and the
original motion being put was carried
On motion of Ald: Gaskin seconded by Ald. R.J. Carson
Ordered, that no motion for the expenditure of money be
in order until the Finance Committee report that there are funds
on hand or arrangements made for the payment of the same
On motion of Ald C.F Gildersleeve seconded by Ald: Irving
Ordered, that the mayor, Messrs Irving, R. Carson, C.F.
Gildersleeve and McGuire be a Committee on Rules and Orders and
that the mayor be chairman
On motion of Ald. J.P. Gildersleeve seconded by Ald: Anglin
Ordered, that the balance remaining in the Treasurers Books
of the Park Account on 31st December last be carried forward
to the Credit of said account for the year 1881
On motion the Council adjourned

A meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City
of Kingston was held this day. Present

Allen, Anglin, J. Carson, R.J. Carson, Clements
Gage, C.F. Gildersleeve, Gordon, Irving, Law
Maloney, McCammon, McGuire, McMahon
Newlands, Robinson, Smythe, J Wilson, W Wilson
The Clerk read the minutes of the two last meetings
Two Communications from FHL Oliver President
Kingston Street Railway Company were read giving reasons
why the Companys Cars ceased running for the present and
requesting the Council will amend the agreement with the Company
as to certain alterations in route &c
On motion of Ald: R.J. Carson seconded by Ald: C.F. Gildersleeve
Ordered, that the Communications from the Street Railway
COmpany be referred to the Committee on Streets to report.
A Communication from James Agnew Esquire, City Solicitor
was read stating the Insurance stock appeals settlement has been
given
