That the Chamerlain make a return to the Council of
remissions of City Hall rent for the past two years and that the
Communication under discussion be referred until next meeting which
being put was lost and the original motion was carried

Requisitions from the City Clerk and Chief of Police were
read and referred to the Mayor.

Sundry problems and communications respecting taxes
were submitted.

On motion of Ald McIntyre seconded by Ald McRossie
Ordered, That the Communications of William McCartney
and others be referred to the Court of Revision

A Communication from William Murray Auctioneer was read
asking for a remission of fine and costs.

On motion of Ald McGuire seconded by Ald Allen
Ordered, That the fine and costs referred to in William
Murrays communication be remitted.

Ald Fee brought up the petition of William McCammon
and Patrick Clark complaining that meat has been stolen from
their stalls and requesting an investigation

On motion of Ald Fee seconded by Ald Gaskin
Ordered, That the petition of Messrs McCammon and Clark
be referred to the Committee on the Market to report

Ald Clements brought up the petition of WC Horten praying
remission of fine and costs imposed on him.

Ald Clements moves seconded by Ald Irving
That the amount of fine reflected on W Horten be refunded.
They Mayor declared the resolution out of order on the question being
raised.

Ald McGuire moves seconded by Ald Gildersleeve
That it be an expression of opinion of this
Council that the Chairman of the Market should not
further prosecute the complaint against Louis Hansen
now pending in view of the fact that the By Law under
which said complaint is laid has been repealed which
being put was lost

Ald Pense brought up the petition of Bridget
Chambers praying for compensation of damage to Home.

On motion of Ald Pense seconded by Ald Fee
Ordered, That the petition of Mrs Chambers
be referred to the Committee upon Finance to report

Ald McGuire brought up the petition of William
Reid and others Butchers praying for protection &c

Ald McGuire moves seconded by Ald McIntyre
That the petition of WH Reid and others butchers
be referred to the License Committee to report

to the Committee on the Market
