A Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City
of Kingston was held this day. Present

His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Allen, Anglin, Clements, Fee, Gaskin,
CF Gildersleeve, JP Gildersleeve, Irving, Law,
Maloney, McCammon, McGuire, McIntyre,
McMahon, McRossie, Pense, Snook, Wilson

The Clerk read the minutes of the three last meetings

A Communication from Messrs Kirkpatrick & Rogers
In Re back taxes John Waddell was read. No action at present.

A Communication from Isaac Simpson Esquire
Hon. Secretary and Treasurer House of Industry was
read - In Re erection of lock up and removal of stone.

On motion of Ald Pense seconded by Ald Gaskin
Ordered, That the first clause of the Communication
of the Directors of the House of Industry be referred to the
Committee on Finance to report.

Ald Fee moves seconded by Ald McCammon
That the Communication from the Board of
Directors of the House of Industry in reference to broken
stone be referred to the Chairman of Streets with power
to act.

In amendment
Ald Allen moves seconded by Ald Anglin
That the stone now on the property of the House of Industry
be divided equally amongst the different wards - which being put
was lost.

and the orginal motion was carried

A Communication of James M Shaw on behalf
of his motion demanding Two hundred dollars and
doctors expenses for injuries received.

On motion of Ald Pense seconded by Ald McMahon
Ordered, That the letter of Mrs Shaw be referred
to the Committee upon Streets to report.

A Communication from FC Ireland City Treasurer
was read In Re Collection of Frontages &c

On motion of Ald Snook seconded by Ald McGuire
Ordered, That William Allen Esquire (Alderman)
be a member of the Board of Commissioners of Police to fill the
present vacancy and that the present Communication be
referred to the Commissioners of Police.

A Communication from WA Carnovsky, Chairman
Ball Committee Employees Kingston and Pembroke Railway
was read asking for a remission of the Rent of the City Hall
on the occasion.

Ald McRossie moves seocnded by Ald Maloney
That the Engineer of the Kingston and Pembroke be
granted a sum equal to the amount charged for the use of
the Hall less the Gas Account.

Ald Pense moves seconded by Ald Gaskin
