Ordered, That the petition of William Hyssop be
referred to the Committee on Streets to report

Ald Pense brought up the petition In Re back taxes
On motion of Ald Pense seconded by Ald McCammon
Ordered, That the petition of Mr J H Stone be
referred to the Committee on back taxes to report

On motion of Ald McRossie seconded by Ald McIntyre
Ordered, That the Committee on back taxes be
requested to report on the lots on Union street adjoining
the property of Mr Kent formerly owned by the Messrs
Jones now advertised to be sold for taxes and which
it is understood the present owner has or is about to put in
Chancery

A Report from the City Treasurer was read
giving a statement of Law Expenses from Jan'y 1879
to 1st July 1880

On motion of Ald Snook seconded by Ald Fee
Ordered, That the report just read be referred
to the Committee on Offices and Salaries to report

Ald McCammon from the Comiittee on Finance &c
and Accounts brought up a Report (Number 30 Book E)
which was read and adopted

The Chairman from the Committee on the Market
brought up a Report (Number 31 Book E) which was
read and adopted

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets &c
brought up a Report (Number 32 Book E) which was read
and adopted

The Chairman from the Committee on Licenses
brought up a Report (Number 33 Book E) which was read
and adopted

On motion of Ald McIntyre seconded by Ald Snook
Ordered, That Aldermen Snook, McGuire, JP
Gildersleeve, Gaskin, Allen, Harty and the mover be a
Committee to prepare Rules and Orders and to report same
to this Council

On motion of Ald Snook seconded by Ald Anglin
Ordered, That the Committee on Fire, Water, and
Gas do advertise for Tenders for lighting the Coal Oil Lamps
of the City and that a new contract for the year be made

On motion of Ald Gaskin seconded by Ald McCammon
Ordered, that the Treasurer be requested to prepare
a statement for the next meeting of Council, showing the
revenue received for the year 1879 not taking in money received
from sale of non-resident lands or anything of that sort, which
was owed the City previously for years past, also showing the
expenditure for same year taking in the work contracted for by
the
