Ald CF Gildersleeve brought up the petition of Mrs AF Tomkins
complaining of the dangerous state of the street at the corner of
Division and Younge streets

On motion of Ald CF Gildersleeve seconded by Ald Gaskin
Ordered, That the petition of Mrs Tomkins be referred to the
Committee on Streets to report

Ald Pense brought up the petition of William Murray and other
licensed auctioneers requesting permission to sell on Market

On motion of Ald Pense seconded by Ald McCammon
Ordered that the petition of William Murray and others be referred
to the Committee on Licenses to report at the next meeting of this
Council.

Ald Allen brought up the petition of Mrs Garety requesting aid

On motion of Ald Allen seconded by Ald Anglin
Ordered, That the petition of Mrs Garety be referred to the
Finance Committee to report

Ald McCammon from the Committee on Finance and
Accounts brought up a report (Number 778 Book D Number 2)
which was read

Ald McCammon moves seconded by Ald Harty
That the report of the Committee on Finance and Accounts
be received and adopted

In amendment
Ald Harty moves seconded by Ald Pense
That the pay list for Rideau Ward as submitted by Ald Fee
be passed but that in the future it is an order of this Council
that the wages of employees on streets in all wards be
arranged by the Engineer under the instructions of the Committee
on Streets

Which being put was carried and the Report was
adopted as amended

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets and Improvements
brought up a Report which was read

A question being raised as to whether the Report was in order

The Mayor rules the Report out of order

Bernard McConville

On motion of Ald McRossie seconded by Ald McIntyre
Ordered, That the tender of Mr B McConville for the
cartage of stone and days work for cartage be accepted by this
Council, it being the lowest

Ald Pense from the Committee on the Observataory
brought up a Report (Number 779 Book D Number 2)
which was read and adopted

The Chairman from the Committee on the Park brought
up a Report (Number 789 Book D Number 2) which was read
