A meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the CIty
of Kingston was held this day. Present

His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Anglin, Clements, Doran, Dupuis, Fee, Gaskin,
Harty, Law, Maloney, McGuire, McIntyre,
McMahon, Pense, Snook

The Clerk read the minutes of the two last meetings

A Communication from George M Madonnell Esquire
was read asking for usual remission given to religious
meetings of the rent of City Hall

A communication from D Corrigan was read IN Re
snow on side walk in front of his land Rideau Strtet

On motion of Ald McGuire seconded by Ald Gaskin
Ordered, that the communication of D Corrigan
be referred to the Committee on Streets to report

A communication from Webster Augustus on behalf
of the "regulators Reform Association" was read asking
to be brought up the questions as to the abolition of
the office of City Commissioner and the repeal of the Dog Tax
as levied by said official

On motion of Ald McIntyre seconded by Ald Fee
Resolved, That in the opinion of this Council it is
inexpedient to continue to the office of City Commissioner, the
creation of the same being unnecessary, and further that the
dog tax as levied by said officer be abrogated, inasmuch
as said tax can be levied, if desired to be continued with the
assistance of the assessor and the collectors Yeas 10 Nays 8

A communication from A Chadwick was read in
Re Bebee & Wood Auctioneers

On motion of Ald McGuire seconded by Ald Snook
Ordered, That the Communication of Mr Chadwick
as to Bebee and West be referred to the Committee Licenses
to report

A communication from A Chadwick was read
stating that a Nuisance ground is much required

On motion of Ald Pense seconded buy Ald Harty
Ordered, That the communication of Mr Chadwick
be referred to the Mayor with power to act.

A communication from Francis Ellington, County Clerk
was read stating a Committee was appointed by the Council
to meet City Committee on Free Roads. The Clerk to acknowledge
communication that it will receive consideration

A communication from Allen Chadwick was read

A commumnication from Edwin Horsey, Chief Fire
Department was read stating certain articles as required
