in their report viz: Aldermen Allen, Harty, GIldersleeve,
Pense, McIntyre, Clements, and the mover which
being put was lost and the original motion was carried

On motion of Ald McRossie seconded by Ald Gaskin
Ordered, That no motion for the expenditure of
money be in order until the Finance Committee report
that there are funds on hand or arrangements made
for paying the same.

On motion of Ald Pense seconded by Ald Harty
Ordered, That it be an instruction to the Special
Committee to strike Committees to name a Special Committee
for 1880 on Salaries and back taxes

On motion of Ald Gaskin seconded by Ald Fee
Ordered, that the amount paid the auditors last
year be the same they receive this year - this to include all
extra work required of them and the amount paid to them be $100.

On motion of Ald McIntyre seconded by Ald McGuire
Ordered, That His Honor Judge Price and
George Davidson Esquire be reappointed Trustees of the
Collegiate Institute for the ensuing term.

On motion of Ald Snook seconded by Ald McGuire
Ordered, That this Council do now adjourn for
one half hour to allow the Committee to strike the standing
Committees to prepare their report.

The Council adjourned accordingly

The Council met pursuant to adjournments
all the members being present

The Chairman from the Select Committee to strike
the Standing Committees brought up a Report (Number 752
Book D No 2) which was read.

On motion of Ald Snook seconded by Ald Gaskin
Ordered, That the report of the Committee appointed
to strike the standing Committees for the present year
be received and adopted.

On motion of Ald McIntyre seconded by Ald Gaskin
Ordered, That Ald Snook be the Director of the
Kingston and Pembroke Railway Company under the Statute
as appointed by this Council

On motion of CF Gildersleeve seconded by Ald Snook
Ordered, That Messrs McIntyre, Pense, Snook Irving,
Harty, Gaskin and the mover be a Committee on Municpal
Amendments and propositons for the Improvement of the
City other than those within the province of the general
standing committee

Ald Gaskin moves seconded by Ald McIntyre
That in the opinion of this Council the City would
be better and more equitably assessed by one competent person
than by three as formerly - the one to be employed by the
year, when not engaged on the assessment to assist the
Treasurer
