submitted to Council.

On motion of Ald McRossie seconded by Ald McIntyre
Ordered, That the claim of Mr Mongaye for taxes be
referred to the Mayor with power to act.

Communications from CV Price, William Ferguson,
George Mooers, Wm Irving, FJ Bentley, and P Heating respecting frontage were read.

On motion of Ald Pense seconded by Ald Harty
Ordered, That the communications on frontage rates
be referred to the Special Committee on frontage.

A communication from Messrs Meek and Macfarland
Reporters was read asking for more accommodation.

On motion of Ald McCammon seconded by Ald McGuire
Ordered, That the petition of Messrs Meek & Macfarlane
be referred to the Committeee on City Property with power to act.

A communication from William Davis praying for a
remission of a portion of Billiard Table License

On motion of Ald McGuire seconded by Ald Allen
Ordered, That the communication of William Davis
as to license for billiard table be referred to the Committee on
Licenses to report

A communication from James Shannon respecting taxes was

On motion of Ald McRossie seconded by Ald McKelvey
Ordered, That the communications of Mr Shannon
and Mr Nuttall in reference to taxes be referred to the
Committee on back taxes to report.

Ald Irving brought up the petition of Samuel
Woods respecting taxes.

Sundry petitions respecting taxes were submitted
On motion of Ald Irving seconded by Ald Wilson
Ordered, That the petition of Samuel Woods and
others be referred to the Court of Revision.

Ald McKelvey brought up the petition of Chown
and Cunningham respecting taxes and taxation.

Ald McKelvey moves seconded by Ald Allen
That the assessment of Chown and Cunningham
on personal property in Cataraqui Ward be struck off
for 1879 and the portion of the petition having reference
to a reduction of taxation for five years be referred to
the Finance Committee to bring on a general scheme
of taxation for manufacturers.

Ald Harty moves seconded by Ald Irving
That the petition of Messrs Chown and Cunningham
be not granted until the Finance Committee have reproted upon
some
