Ald Fee brought up the petition of Mrs Jones respecting taxes

On motion of Ald McCammon seconded by Ald Pense
Ordered, That the petitions of James Dykes and Mrs Jones be
referred to the Court of Revision

Ald McKelvey from the Committee on Finance and Accounts
brought up a report (Number 743 Book D, Number 2) which was read
received and adopted.

Ald McKelvey from the Committee on Finance and Accounts
brought up a report No 2 which was read.

Ald McKelvey moves seconded by Ald Pense
That Report No 2 of the Finance Committee be received
and adopted.
Which being put was lost requiring a majority vote of
the whole Council

The Chairman from the Committee on the Market
brought up a report (Number 745 Book D Number 2) which
was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Printing
brought up a report (Number 746 Book D Number 2) which
was read and adopted.

On motion of Ald McKelvey seconded by Ald McRossie
Ordered, That the Treasurer pay the Reporters
R Meek and DH McFarland the sum of $20 each.

Ald Harty introduced a By Law relating to the
assessment of the City which was read a first time.

Ald Gaskin introduces a By Law fixing the salary of
the Mayor

Ald Snook moves seconded by Ald Fee
That from statements made by many of the
members of this Council an impression exists that a fixed
indemnity is due to the Mayor of $800 per year be it
resolved that this Council are of opinion that the Mayors
salary should be regulated by each Council in proportion
to the services performed by him each year.

Which being put was lost and the By Law was read
a first time.

On motion of Ald McKelvey seconded by Ald Gaskin
Ordered, That the City Engineer do report to this
Council at the next regular meeting the amount of money
expended in each ward in connection with the special as well as
